S/SGT.Gary Peterson resides in Grosse Ile, Michigan. Gary was 3rd. Platoon scout.
Gary was one of the original "boat people". He remembers Bill Lewellen, Homer Pittman, Joe Wertz (deceased), Walter
Simpson (MIA deceased) and Lt. Willie Manning. His best friend - Wayne Schumacher,
was killed in action just before Gary returned home. Gary is a life member of the 11th ACVVC. Gary would like to hear from anyone

K Troop Mess Hall - 1967. This rare and early
photo shows the newly constructed mess hall with the staging in place for the water tank.
Note the mess tent to the left foreground. This indicates that the new mess
hall was not yet ready for occupancy.
