James L. Bible, Sr.

BIBLE, James, Sr. JAMES L. BIBLE, SR. Mr. James L. Bible, Sr., age 66 of Jonesboro passed away December 14, 2010. Jim was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Raymond McKinley and Gladys Irene Gaskill Bible. He was preceded in death by siblings, Betty Sickafoose, Eugene Bible and Raymond Bible. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years. He also retired 20 years with Consolidated Freightways, Teamsters Local 728. Jim was a loyal and faithful servant and was a member of Stockbridge Community Church. He was a member of the American Legion in Stockbridge and the Black Horse Vietnam Regiment. He enjoyed volunteering at church, fishing, camping, playing video games and time at the beach. Survivors include his loving wife of over 48 years, June Jones Bible; children, Jim (Tina) Bible, Jr. of Locust Grove, Dave (Tammy) Bible of Hamilton, AL, Chris (Bobby) Lawrence of McDonough; grandsons, Jamie, Andy, Adam, Kevin, Greg and Matt Bible; granddaughter, Jennifer Bradshaw; great granddaughter, Bella Bible; siblings, Donnie Bible, Eilene (Dick) Hamilton, Esther Seeton all of Canton, OH, Juanita (Ron) Kinder of Clermont, FL; former daughter in law, Sissy Bible of Crestview, FL; best friend, Ed Henley of Rex; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Stockbridge Community Church, 4401 Hwy 155 N., Stockbridge, GA 30281. Pastor Jeff Daws will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Contributions are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Jim.
