Dear Mom & Dad,
Greetings once again from Vietnam. Well, it's about 5:30 PM and we just got
through feeding supper. I'm in the field. We are basically in the same area as
before. Fortunately enough, we haven't been making too much contact. Things
are going good. I'm not getting too much sleep so I have to nap whenever I get a
chance. Russ Risden, our newest cook from New Jersey is with me. We will go in
Saturday morning. Johnson and Quinn will be out Saturday. The troop isn't
doing too bad. We have two new tracks and about 20 new replacements so we are slowly
getting back on our feet. For a while there, things got pretty bad. It has
quieted down lately, though.
The Christmas cards are starting to come in. I got one from a couple on South
Street today. It's good to get so much mail, especially while I'm out here in the
field.
It's hard to believe that I'm getting short but today, I have 149 days and wake up.
Come Christmas, I will really be getting short. Time definitely goes by fast
over here, especially in the field. I'm still trying to get another R&R -
perhaps in January. I don't really care where it is - perhaps I will go to Tokyo or
someplace like that.
Well, I want to get this in the mail so I will say . . . .
By for now!
Love,
Bob
