Excellent site, I served in the Blackhorse twice in germany, in Fulda from 1975 to 1978 and in Bad Kissigen from 1980 to 1983. I will always be proud to be a vet, a Black Hourse Trooper and always were my Blackhorse pin with pride. Scouts out!!! Retired 1SG Peter Rechkemmer.

Great site! One of my old buddies, Bernie Wilson, is also signed in! I served in K Trp, 3rd Recon Sqd, 11 ACR, From September '59 to September '61. Got back to Fort Knox in time for the Cuban Crisis. I later worked at Fort Knox, as a tank maintenance instructor, then supervisory instructor, until retiring in '93. Would love to hear from anyone from the 11th ACR, especially those who were in Regensburg. Hey, you guys who went to 'Nam, you carried the banner with honor!

Very nicely done!

I was a draftee and assigned to K-Troop(2/73-9/74)while the 3/11 ACR was in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. After the 14th Cavalry was integrated as the 11th. Not many surviving Troopers would talk about, what happened in Vietnam, understandably.

The Unit Citations and Awards made the Dress Greens, very impressive. I was very proud to wear the colors, knowing the cost of those whom served before.

My brother, Roger Byus, was KIA on 11/24/69. He was in 2/11, E Troop, 3rd Plt. I have searched many websites, looking for comrades. This website is very touching. I pray God will bless all men of the 11th Arm Cav. They are very near and dear to me.

This is a great site. Thanks to all Viet Nam vets. My brother, Ed Haas, was with the 11 ACR, 3rd squadron, I troop from 67 to 68. His APC was blown up and he was one of the few found alive. I can't wait to tell him about this site. I am sure he will like the pictures as all of his were stolen when he came back.

I had to go through your line again for seconds. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading the saga of a school trained 94D. His "guarantee", and his journey from Ft. Lee to USAEUR then on to USARVN. Your receipes are bona fide "classics" suitable for publishing! How bout those silver tongued devils of the 2nd Platoon! They also got me out on one of their night "dismounted" ambush patrols! I guess that means that you and me can swap "was stories" in the command bunker in Buffalo. Thanks again for the "tour" back. God Bless. Scooter-48

Seeking any information on the circumstances concerning the death of Col. Charles R. Gorder, 08/10/91, probably in Washington state. I did not serve under Dick (I was USAF), but worked for and with him after his retirement from active duty. Lost contact after he and Mary moved to Washington from Massachusetts. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

***Samuel "Sam" Jorgensen***

Does anyone remember SP5 Sam Jorgensen who served with the 11th Cav from Aug 68 to 14 Feb 1970 when he was KIA at Tay Ninh Province. We are not sure what Troop he was with but do know he was a Blackhorse trooper. If you can help with anything a good friend wants to know just what happen to him

Allons, Cj
