Explanation Of Terms

* The 11th Armored Cavalry's Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia counts four members of the 11th ACR as Missing In Action (MIA).  Walter Stephen Simpson is one.   The other three are, Walter Melvin Pierce, Peter Charles Forame and Thomas William Skiles.  More Info

Staff Sergeant Simpson is counted among the 16 K Troop members who was killed as a result of the ambush of May 21, 1967.  His body not recovered and was listed as Missing In Action.  The Department of Defense changed its classification of his death to Killed In Action May 22, 1968 - a year and a day after the ambush.  His name is not mentioned in the After Action Report but so are several others who are included in the list of "16".   If you have information about Sgt.
